WWBIC holds 876,737 species records from our region in our main reporting database

In addition to these we hold more than 200,000 marine records and an ever changing quantity of paper of records undergoing data entry.
Species datasets
Species information is shared voluntarily with WWBIC. We are very grateful to everyone who shares data with us.
Each dataset we receive goes through a procedure of validation and verification. It is imported into the main WWBIC species database as unassessed and distributed to the relevant Vice County Recorder for verification.
see tab Recording>Data Proceess This is necessary to maintain the quality of information we hold and use in our reporting process.
The data we hold has grown steadily from the 43,000 records we began with in our operation as a Local Record Centre in 2007.
