Cardigan Island
Cardigan island is 15.6ha and was purchased by the Wildlife Trust in 1963. It's a notified SSSI and is part of the Cardigan Bay Special Area of Conservation (SAC).
Gulls make up most of the breeding birds on the island, razorbills, guillemots, chough and fulmar amongst others are also present.
The only mammals on the island are a small flock of soay sheep, grey seals can be found on the shore line around the island and dolphins and porpoises are frequently seen in the water surrounding the island.
