Sea Trust carry out cetacean recording from Stena ferry crossings between Fishguard and Rosslare. Pembrokeshire college student and Sea Trust volunteer Dave Thomas is working on the ferry survey data. The GIS facilities at WWBIC are available to Dave and this ability to map the data will make identifying any emerging patterns and trends easier.

WWBIC have been advising Sea Trust on mobile technology and sourcing equipment that will assist with both offshore cetacean recording and the daily porpoise surveys from Strumble Head. The use of such technology should simplify recording techniques for Sea Trust volunteers and help achieve accurate measurements.
