Am y tro cyntaf yn hanes Cymdeithas Adaryddol Cymru, mae CAC yn cynnal arolwg rhywogaeth, Cymru gyfan yn ystod gwanwynau 2022 a 2023. Y rhywogaeth i’w harolygu yw’r Rook (Corvus frugilegus<\/em>). Y nod yw sefydlu mapiau dosbarthiad o Rook ac amcangyfrif cadarn o\u2019r boblogaeth fridio yng Nghymru.<\/p>\n

Pam Rook? Pam nawr?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mae Rook mewn trafferth ac yn angen cymorth. O ganlyniad i ostyngiadau a achosir gan newidiadau ffermio, plaladdwyr ac erledigaeth, maent wedi cael eu symud o Wyrdd i Ambr yn y rhestr “Birds of Conservation Concern 5” a diweddariad “Leiaf Pryder” i “Fregus” ar Restr Goch Ewropeaidd yr IUCN.<\/p>\n

\"\"Mae dau arolwg fridio Rook ledled y DU wedi\u2019u cynnal yn y gorffennol \u2013 un ym 1975 ac un arall ym 1996 \u2013 ond dim ers hynny ac mae\u2019n hen bryd cynnal arolwg Cymru gyfan eto. Yng Nghymru ymddengys eu bod mewn mwy o trwbl nag mewn mannau eraill. Gostyngodd mynegai Arolwg Adar sy\u2019n Nythu (BBS) ar gyfer Cymru, 58% yn ystod 1995-2018, gan gyf ar \u00f4l 2010, ac mae cyfradd y dirywiad yn sylweddol uwch yma nag yn unrhyw wlad arall yn y DU.<\/p>\n
